PENCIL PORTRAITS
I found myself doing a lot of pictures for
lost pets, fond memories, and breeders pictures. I find it very
relaxing and a drawing like you see below usually takes me a few days
to a few weeks based on the complexity of the sketch. I prefer to work in
pencil and may from time to time bring some colour in overtop, but as a
rule prefer the amount of flexibility and control I have with this
medium. I do ask for the following if you are interested in a
sketch:
Clear, clean pictures to work from. Hard copies are
preferred. I must have a good shot of the eyes if applicable - if you
don't have the eyes, it could be anyone's dog. Specific instructions if
you wish anything to be enhanced, modified or omitted from a picture
i.e. collars, ear placement, coat length, etc.
I have been noticing these images in circulation and I am asking
all who view these pages, to respect my hard work by not taking
one of my pieces for your own use. Many of these images are bought
and paid for by my customers, and it is their property to do with
as they please. Many of these are Champion dogs, business stock,
which need to be recognized EACH & EVERY time the picture is
used, to give credit to the dog's breeders. These images are not
public domain, they are restricted for authorized use only. Many of
these images are used in corporate logos and therefore give the
owners legal rights to go after those who use them. |

On this side are my more
advanced sketches, where I learned to draw shadow and not the actual
hair. Sounds simple, but it was incredibly hard to shake the habit! |
Below are a section of
my older drawings.
I love looking at them to see how my style has changed throughout the
years! |
